It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and colleague, Bryan Betts. Following a very short illness, Bryan slipped away peacefully on Friday night with his family around him.
All of our thoughts are with his wife, Helma, and their two children, Roric and Elfie.
Bryan joined Freeform Dynamics an industry analyst in 2016 after a successful career as a tech writer. He was well known, liked and respected across the journalist, analyst and IT vendor communities, and clients always loved working with him.
Not long ago, when asked what he was (in)famous for by someone writing a magazine profile, Bryan responded: cycling through central London in all weather, a long standing fascination with data storage, and a passion for judging interesting beers!
At Freeform Dynamics, we’ll not just miss Bryan’s balanced perspective on the industry, grounded analysis, and superb writing skills, but also his empathy, kindness and enthusiasm to help those around him. He was one of us, and he leaves a big hole.
The world has lost a fantastic Dad, master wordsmith and absolute Gentleman.
Dale is a co-founder of Freeform Dynamics, and today runs the company. As part of this, he oversees the organisation’s industry coverage and research agenda, which tracks technology trends and developments, along with IT-related buying behaviour among mainstream enterprises, SMBs and public sector organisations.
