The realities of SaaS and Security

With upgrades to Windows 7 and Office 2010 high on the agenda, questions are being asked about whether to continue in the old vein, or to look at new ways to deliver applications to enable mobility, collaboration and security.

Moving into the cloud is one way to approach this – losing a bunch of complexity on the physical desktop, and collaborative activities also become a lot more natural. But there is a lot of resistance. Security and privacy in particular are causing red flags, with a whole lot of fear, uncertainty and doubt about this whole side of SaaS services.

In this webcast, Andrew Buss, service director with Freeform Dynamics is joined by Tim Phillips of The Register and Eran Feigenbaum, director of security for Google Apps, to discuss the security and privacy issues surrounding hosted apps and whether on-premise is really better or if it is a case of fear of the unknown.
