When it come to virtualisation and private cloud, it seems that IT is happy to run just about any application virtualised, so long as it in the test and development lab.
When it comes to the real world though, many are happy to virtualise a whole host of departmental or non-critical apps, but they tend to shy away from doing the same with their critical apps. While caution is indeed called for, many critical apps could benefit from being moved from physical to virtual provided their specific needs are met.
